Technical Sales Representative – Generally Reports to: President

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support services to SLS customers
  • Promote SLS Chemicals product line and services
  • Conduct Lab work to test chemicals as required
  • Develop cost-effective chemical and operational solutions for its customers
  • Develop genuine personal and professional relationships with customers
  • Travel within Western Canada (some overnight travel is required)
  • Working hours may be varied and include some evening and weekend work as required.
  • Work with SLS vendors to add new products and services
  • Learn about new technologies and strategies in water and wastewater treatment
  • Work from a home office based in the Edmonton, AB region.

Qualifications:

  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Eager to learn new things
  • A degree in chemistry, biology, or engineering
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • 5 years’ experience in water and wastewater treatment processes
  • Ability to work in a lab environment
  • Strong understanding the sales process
  • Proficient in computers including MS 365 products
  • Understands professional standards and the Canadian regulatory environment
  • Works well in teams and on their own
  • Valid Driver’s License

Compensation:

  • Base salary + performance bonus
  • Monthly car allowance + gas allowance
  • Expense account privileges (travel, cell phone, entertainment)

Office Administrator and Logistics Coordinator – Generally Reports to: President

Part-time – 27 hours week – Home office – $25/hour

Major Responsibilities:

The Office Administrator and Logistics Coordinator’s duties are outlined below. The employee will be required to maintain working hours at their home office between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm Monday to Thursday (6 hours/day) and 8:30 am – 12:00 pm (3 hours/day) on Friday. The employee may be required to complete tasks outside of these hours from time to time. The employee will be required to:

  • General administrative duties
  • Aiding correspondence for the office, such as emails, letters, packages, and phone calls
  • Receive customer email orders
  • Place orders with vendors
  • Logistics Management – Rate requests, book pick-ups, track deliveries, and enter invoices
  • Receive and enter vendor invoices
  • Send invoices to customers
  • Track accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Maintain our SharePoint database and technical manuals
  • Utilize online software including MS office suite of products

Qualifications:

  • Organizational skills to assist multiple employees at one time with various tasks
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs and basic typing abilities
  • Communication skills, like having a pleasant demeanour and the ability to work with various types of personalities
  • Attention to detail to submit work or send communications without error
  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust priorities for whatever task is most important at any given time
  • Ability to handle sensitive information
  • Leadership skills to take control of a situation and make quick decisions when necessary
  • Strong understanding of MS office products including SharePoint

Minimum requirements:

  • 2 or more years of transportation and logistics experience
  • 2 or more years of general office administration (any industry)
  • 2 or more years of customer service experience (any industry)
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • High School Diploma
